About Rob
Rob has been in the construction industry for over 25 years (Yes, he is THAT old!) He has a good reputation in the area and has worked on projects over the years with many reputable companies. One of his biggest strengths is his ability to problem solve issues that sometimes arise (especially on century homes as older homes love to give us surprises). Rob really enjoys finishing drywall as well and can match just about any existing texture. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone say about word about him personally or professionally.
In his early years in the skilled trades Rob had the opportunity to have some of the most well-respected mentors. Before joining the workforce, he graduated from Wayne County Career Center’s carpentry program. He has taken courses over the years and is always learning new techniques and testing new products for his clients. He loves all things tool related, of course! He has a really cool drywall dust extraction system that takes a lot of the mess from drywall out of the equation!
Our Family
Burkhard Direct Windows and Doors is a locally owned and operated family business. What that means is, when you work with us, you’re helping to pay for our chocolate lab’s vet bill, our son’s college tuition, and keeping food on our table. We truly love building relationships with all of you. Most of our clients call again and again and we get to form real relationships.
We enjoy going to Oak Island, NC for vacation each year. We have a teen son who is a guitarist and has mild autism and Crohn’s disease. Rob’s wife Shauna, is a local Realtor and helps run the day to day operations. We all love to donate and spread kindness whenever we can. We like to garden, enjoy eating at local restaurants, and going for walks at Sippo Lake Park with this guy below.

We had a window put into our bathroom that didn’t exist prior to Rob making it happen for us. It looks amazing and he did a superb job. It had to be centered exactly and from the outside also, everything matches precisely. What a great job and super guy.
